Journal¶
Append-only practice log. One paragraph per session. No structure beyond the date and topic.
Why write here
The brain compresses learning across many sessions. A journal is how you notice patterns ("every time I sight-read after coffee I'm faster" / "the third home-design iteration always fixes the second one's mistake") that you'd otherwise miss. Five minutes of writing now beats thirty minutes of regret later.
How to write entries
Be specific. "Practiced piano" is useless. "20 min: drilled C, G, D major scales hands-together at 80 BPM; D still trips on right-hand 4-3 crossing; assigned to tomorrow" is gold.
Format¶
## YYYY-MM-DD — <topic>
<duration>: <what you did>. <what you noticed>. <next step or open question>.
Multiple entries per day are fine — one per session, or one per topic.
Weekly review (every Sunday)¶
Skim the past week's entries. Ask:
- What did I actually do, vs. what I planned (in now.md)?
- Did any entry note a pattern, blocker, or question I should act on?
- Anything to move into a topic's
practice-schedule.mdor onto next week's commitments?
Then update now.md for the coming week.

2026-04-26 — wiki¶
10 min: scaffolded journal.md, now.md, mental-models, per-topic quickstarts and practice schedules. The wiki's now structurally biased toward action, not just reading. First real test: do I actually fill these pages in next week.
