Now — This Quarter's Focus¶
A single page that answers "what am I working on, and what am I doing this week?" Update weekly (or whenever the answer changes). Long enough to be specific, short enough to fit on one screen.
How to use this page
Edit it weekly — Sunday evening is the natural rhythm. The friction of updating it forces you to confront whether your stated focus matches your actual time use.
Quarter: Q2 2026 (Apr–Jun)¶
Active topics — pick at most 2¶
Spreading across all 7 wiki topics simultaneously is how progress dies. Choose two that don't compete for the same brain energy (one technical + one creative-life works well).
- Primary: < pick one — e.g., Music >
- Secondary: < pick one — e.g., Home Building >
The other 5 topics stay as reference only this quarter. Search them when needed; don't actively study them.
Active deliverables (with deadlines)¶
A deliverable is something you can show another human. "Studied" is not a deliverable.
| Topic | Deliverable | Due | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Music | e.g., 60-second piano + voice demo of original song | 2026-05-31 | pending |
| Home | e.g., site analysis + program brief signed | 2026-06-15 | pending |
Mark done, slipped, or cancelled. Slipped goals teach you something; secret abandoned goals teach you nothing.
This week (date: YYYY-MM-DD)¶
Music¶
- Practice schedule: complete this week's checklist in Music — Practice Schedule
- Specific commitment: e.g., write 4 bars of new melody, capture as voice memo
- Specific commitment: e.g., sight-read 3 hymns from Grade 1 book
Home¶
- Specific commitment: e.g., finalize program brief sections 1–4
- Specific commitment: e.g., schedule survey appointment
Anything else¶
- Optional one-off task
Last week's reflection¶
Filled in every Sunday. Three sentences max.
- What worked:
- What didn't:
- Adjustment:
If "what didn't" is the same item three weeks running, the plan is wrong, not your willpower.
Quarterly review (end of June)¶
Schedule a 30-minute session for 2026-06-30 to:
- Mark deliverables done/slipped/cancelled.
- Review the journal entries from the quarter.
- Decide Q3 focus topics.
- Update this page.
What's parked (not now, but not abandoned)¶
A short list of things you considered but pushed out, with the reason. Prevents the "what about X?" anxiety.
- e.g., Godot 2D platformer prototype — pushed to Q3, music and home need more attention this quarter.
- e.g., Day trading satellite — not now; complete Level 1 reading first; reassess in Q4.
